Sustainability at our core

We’ve worked with sustainability experts, recyclers, and scrap dealers to understand how to create a brand with the least environmental impact. Low waste packaging, minimal product range, biodegradable ingredients and local manufacturing - we think about sustainability at every step.

We’re always looking to do better. Got ideas? We’d love to hear from you!

Buy less, buy kind

Working in the beauty industry, I saw first-hand how brands constantly launched new products and new trends just to boost sales. The result? Confused customers, stressed-out skin, and mountains of waste.

At Mettā, we’re taking a step back. We start by asking: what do people really need? Rooted in mindful consumption, we create multi-tasking hero products that replace several steps in your routine while delivering powerful results.

The beauty industry has a plastic problem

Recyclable Plastic ≠ Sustainable.

The beauty industry generates over 120 billion units of packaging waste every year—mostly plastic. Over 91% of it isn’t recycled. It usually gets recycled once or twice before ending up in landfills, taking 500 years to break down and releasing microplastics along the way.

Microplastics have been found in oceans, soil and now even in human bodies.
Glass is better to recycle, but it has a high carbon footprint to produce and transport.

Low-waste packaging

At Mettā, we use 100% aluminium, 100% post-consumer recycled plastic, and recycled paper boxes with no plastic lamination.

Aluminium is infinitely recyclable and one of the most widely recycled materials — 75% of all aluminium ever produced is still in use today.

Our PCR plastic bottles and tube caps are made entirely from consumer plastic waste — meaning no new plastic is produced, and landfill waste gets a second life.
